Journey Of The Medicine From Discovery To The Drug Store

One should not be exaggerated if I say that it takes almost 12 to 15 years for the medicine to reach the drug store from the time of discovery.  Once the chemical is discovered, it travels to different stages to prove its efficiency in treating the diseases. Bringing the new medicine from the discovery to that involves number of phases in addition to contribution of number volunteers that range from the researcher to the participant. The discovery is followed by preclinical trial which after wards is supported with the ongoing safety and surveillance. The safety and surveillance of the drug is tested in the clinical trial under four different phases. Once the drug passes the four stages of the clinical trial, then it is submitted for FDA approval and passed to the drug store.
